Ethan wins Goa State Chess Championship, once again!
Defending champion and top seed Ethan Vaz remained undefeated and emerged as the clear winner with a perfect score of 7 points in 7 rounds, to clinch the Under-9 Goa State Chess Championship title in the Open Category for the second year in succession. Last year, Ethan had clinched the Under-9 Championship title at just 7 years of age.
The tournament for All-Goa Under-9 Chess Championships cum Selection for Nationals 2020 was organized by Salcete Taluka Chess Association under the aegis of Goa Chess Association, from the 1st to 2nd of Feb 2020, at Fatorda, Margao.
By virtue of being the State Champion, Ethan is selected to officially represent the State of Goa at the National Under-9 Chess Championship 2020 to be held in Haryana later this year.
