AIM Ethan Vaz has made Goa proud once again by bringing home the Team Gold Medal for India in the Under-11 Open category at the Asian Schools Chess Championships 2021, organized online by National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) under the auspices of the Asian Chess Federation (ACF) and the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
India A team comprising of Aakash G of Tamil Nadu, Krishna Goutham of Kerala, Mrinmoy Rajkhowa of Assam and Ethan Vaz of Goa got the better of teams India B and Iran A in a close contest to the finish line.
Ethan was selected to represent India at the Asian Schools Chess Championships after having secured the 3rd runner-up position at the National Schools Chess Championship earlier in July, thereby securing his birth in Team A of India.
