AIM Ethan Vaz (1384 Elo) fought fearlessly in the final match of the World Cup Finals 2021, but fell short of overcoming the World No. 1 CM Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus of Turkey (2150 Elo) who is the world’s highest rated player in the category.
Ethan took to the World Cup Podium as the 1st runner-up, winning the Silver Medal for India. By virtue of his podium finish, Ethan shall be awarded a Diploma by FIDE and also the rights to a direct entry into the most prestigious event, the World Cup 2021 Super Finals that is scheduled to be held in December this year. The World Cup Super Finals is a round-robin tournament that will be hotly contested amongst six of the world’s best players in their respective categories.
