Ethan secured the 1st Place at the 5th Late Laxmikant V Desai Memorial All India Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, in the Under-7 category.
The tournament was organized by the Ponda Taluka Chess Association in association with Champions Chess Academy, at Mangueshi, Ponda, Goa, .
This was Ethan’s second All-India Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, and his first one in Goa.
It’s a pretty rare opportunity to get to play an All-India Rating tournament in Goa, as there are just so few of them conducted in the State. Playing in the home State has its own advantages, and Ethan made it count by bagging the top prize in his category.
This was Ethan’s first 1st Prize at an All-India Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, in his 2nd attempt ever at an All-India level tournament. His first attempt was at Hyderabad, where he had bagged the 5th place.
